not sure where these cans came from, but i was pleased to find them in my parents beer fridge. its a brewery i have not sampled from before, and a crisp kolsch was just what the doctor ordered when i noticed them. its yellow in color and close to clear, sports in an appropriate inch of white head, and has a lot of racing carbonation. the malt profile suggests a heavy dose of european pils, and there are some minerals to back it, clean but flavorful, crackery and simple, but fresh too, nice. this might be slightly more hoppy than many too, its bold through the back half, moderately bitter but with some herbal brightness to it and and earthy sort of spice, i think perfect with this grain profile, and also very fresh. it hangs on just a little at the finish, maybe limiting the pound factor ever so slightly, but i will take the flavor here over the volume drinking potential. perhaps most importantly the yeast is right, there is a crisping element to it but its got plenty of character too, quintessentially german but slightly fruity, soft but invaluable to the overall mix here. great balance, clean ferment, tasty and quaffable brew. more summer than winter for sure, but i was pretty stoked on this overall. will be on the hunt for more of their stuff when i am out this way next! more flavorful than typical dad beer, but it scratches that itch too. nicely done!

Canned 7/29/21. Pours a straw blond hue with a thin head into my glass. Sweet crackery malt with a touch of crispness in the nose. Light-bodied with a sweet spot of malt/bitterness. It's almost quaffable and works well on this muggy August day. It's only $10 for a 4 pack at the brewery.
