Solid English style barleywine but I’ll
Be honest here, the packaging and price led me to expect more. It’s a beautiful bottle (8oz) and looks great in the glass, just the right hue and appealingly murky. The feel of the beer is quite good as well, a little sticky but still lively with fine carbonation and a long finish. However we fall short on aroma, which is modest and mostly undistinguished, and flavor, which is nice but lacks depth and profundity. That might seem like asking a lot but if you’re pricing an 8oz non-barrel aged beer at over ten dollars and gussying up the package with fancy verbiage one could expect more - something truly memorable. Medium sweetness here with a mostly dry finish, vinous qualities and dark fruit notes more predominant than toffee and brown sugar; a bit of bittering hops linger after the swallow. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this quite a bit, but had higher hopes. Glad I got to try it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
