This is an English style barley wine which focuses more on the malt than the hops. Brewed with English malts, giving it a caramel and toasty flavor that is kept from becoming overly sweet by the hops. The Brandy adds a unique aroma and flavor to this beer. Barrel aging added a pleasant oaky and vanilla character. Brewed in Collaboration with Able Baker brewing.

L - Medium brown with good clarity. Great, light tan head is fluffy and moderately persistent.
S - Rich notes of bread and chocolate from the malt; oak and brandy from barrel. Rich and pleasant.
T - Malt give chocolate, dates and raisins. Light oxidation notes (ok for style). Brandy and oak in the sweet finish, which is a bit too sweet for me.
F - Thick body; light to moderate carbonation adds to a smooth mouthfeel. Medium hops bitterness. Med to strong alcohol presence seems hot but appropriate with the brandy flavors.
O - A good example of a style I like, but it is a bit thicker and sweeter than I’d prefer.
