Taster at brewery. Medium, clear brown pour. Pretty standard for the style. Aroma and taste feature nutty, malty notes with light sweetness and some tea-like elements.

another excellent darker beer from these guys, they really have the malty stuff pretty well down it seems like, impressive for how new they are. this one is slightly heartier than i think the american standard probably is, but still lighter on the body, just a bit more roast to this, not all chocolate malt and sweeter crystal here, but some deeper, earthy balance, i love the grain complexion on this, its full spectrum and robust, but isnt heavy in a way that slows the drinking down any. sutble cocoa, almond, and honey notes in this, along with just a tiny bit of a bready character to the yeast which works in well, and just a tad of bittering hops, but really minimal there. its all about the grain, and while the beer is quite simple it seems in composition, the flavor has nice nuance and smoothness in feel, and this should appeal to just about anyone who likes a full flavored beer. super clean on the fermentation side, an obvious freshness i dont often appreciate in a brown ale style, and just a lot of character overall. perfect fall drinker!
