to me this is a czech type pils at its core, but its done with french hops hence the name, aramis and barbe rouge, two varietals that should get way more usage than they do in the states, both so unique and more versatile than i think they get credit for being, they combine well in here too. this is dry, pretty hoppy, crisp and nicely lagered, refreshing and drinkable while also being unique enough to stand out in a very samey style space right now, bravo to these guys for coming up with this and executing it so well! very pale yellow brew, light looking but not radiantly clear, short but airy white head from the tap, frantic carbonation popping off. nose of mowed lawn, white tea, red fruits, and white florals, definite springtime vibes to it, some bready lager yeast coming though, minerals from the water, its not out of proportion hoppy but its so decidedly different than noble hops too. the yeast dries this right out, light citrus with the cereal notes, wet stone, lime leaf. super botanical as it warms a little, a strawberry note like french rose can give, light thyme, european grain in the mix, very thirst quenching with the high carbonation. this is wonderful, they should package it and release it full time, about as tasty and unique a pils as i have had made in idaho. wonderful.
