Amber in color, didn't seem overcarbonated to me. Powerful aromas of citrus fruit, which was also present in the taste, with some maltiness and a decent bitterness. Fairly light in body but OK. Kind of an unorthodox WCIPA due to the Citra, which brings lots of fruity character.

Visually, there's really nothing to like. At first pour from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug, it seems overly carbonated. It has that extreme amount of stark white foam that has been observed receding unevenly and quite unattractively before. This almost always occurs when the barley malt is short changed. Scant and irregular glass lacing follows the recession of the foam. But that's not all. There's barely any pale amber to its color and this will have to be one of the most translucent West Coast IPAs seen, or is it not seen? There is some sharp hoppiness in the aroma, but almost no malt at all. Despite these first impressions, this is a pretty good tasting brew. There's a surprisingly nice body that brings some maltiness to the taste and some is all that should be expected in this category. The hop bite brings both some pine and citrus references and it goes through changes as it is consumed. Probably its best characteristic is that it is hoppy, with pine and citrus notes, but it's never harsh or astringent. Impressively, it even seems to lighten its bite and provide a pleasant breadlike sweetness during the finish, where most IPAs bite the harshest. How deceiving looks can be proven once again. This is so good, it encourages another and by the second one, its looks won't matter.
