On tap at Nannup Pub & Hotel. Lager...What more can you say, bland, but goes down easy. Fairly tasty, quenching, slick body, extremely drinkable. Hard to distinguish form the other 6 lagers on tap.

The Swan Draught is a decent standard type beer. It poured a clear golden with white head that left a nice lace. The scent and taste were typical of most macros. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its fine.

Best beer on tap ever, but out of the bottle it tastes like camel pissing.

There's not a lot going for this beer other than to say you've tried it. Adjunct characteristics stand out. Little of the cloying sweet side. Bit over carbonated. It's not good. On the other hand, it is a liquid that won't kill you, at least not right away. It will give you a minor buzz. Although I can imagine the hangover from this is a mother.

Appearance - 3.5
Deep gold in colour with a thin white head and good lacing.

Smell - 3.0
Very little aroma, slightly grainy, no hops of note.

Taste - 3.0
Barely perceptible hop bitterness and no hop flavour. Light grainy maltiness, dry finish and a clean (read:tasteless) finish.

Mouthfeel - 3.0
Light bodied and smooth, a little watery.

Overall - 3.0
Very clean, well brewed and... boring. I can see why Swan Draught did so well at the last Perth Royal Beer Show, as there are really no off flavours or aromas whatsoever. Considerably better than Carlton, Tooheys et al.

On-tap at the Lucky Shag in Perth, against all the warnings from my friends.

Pours a bright golden colour, extremely clear with a fine head of white and firm sheeting lacing. Large-bubbled carbonation and a watery, light body. Can't say I'm overly impressed.

Nose is bready and yeasty, with some sharp, earthy Pride of Ringwood. A little crushed undergrowth, but mostly, it's incredibly bland.

Taste is sharp with woody, dirty PoR and horrible mucky yeast after tones. Finish is bitter and acrid with chemical sharpness, and the texture of soda water. Urgh.

Even by the low standards of Aussie macro lagers this is bad. Bland but offensive all in one.

Ok - This beer is pretty rough from the can or bottle, but when served on draught at a pub where its turned over a fair bit, its actually not too bad. It wipes the floor with the likes of tooheys new and carlton draught, which are absolutely horrible.

It has the normal elements of a boring macro - dry, headache inducing, slighlty harsh. But there is a pleasant flowery element in the finish, almost like a pilsner. Could be indicative of freshness.

Its fairly often Ill drink a pint of Swan Draught for $6 than pay $9 for an "imported" heineken or stella which are actually domestically brewed under license, but sold at imported prices

Although I'm reviewing the draught version, extra points for the brown bottle and nice design. Its a pity they dont set up a decent outlet/microbrewery in the classic old brewery building on the Swan River. Wishful thinking.

A: Poured with a small quickly disappearing head. Golden straw coloured with lots of rapidly rising bubbles.

S: People who dislike the smell of beer would love this one. Can't detect much aroma at all, but at least it's not offensive like VB.

T: Same for taste. Luckily they didn't spend too much on Pride of Ringwood. This is very watery with just a hint of hops.

M- If I want this much carbonation I would go for soda water.

D-This is probably OK as thirst quencher; akin to making love in a canoe.

while not the worst aussie lager, this beer is still about as exciting as watching paint dry. probably second on the list of the no1 lagers in each state, behind cascade premium. no great commendation, but still you can do far worse.

nice golden color with a surprisingly creamy head. has a nice malt presence and some hops in nose and mouthfeel, but winds up tasting like most of the others unfortunately. having said that its a lot less offensive than say VB or tooheys new at the finish. the first three quarters of this beer make it good for one thing tho, it goes really well in a black and tan with coopers best extra stout.

ive never drunk this in its natural habitat of w.a, but then if i was there id find it hard to tear myself away from the little creatures pale ale. still i could see myself on a beach in perth kicking back polishing of a couple of stubbies of this without getting too distressed. ok for what it is.

Suprisingly better than most Aussie lagers, this one had quite a decent creamy head, but still had a crappy chemical finish, but i found not as harsh as other aussie lagers, this one was more drinkable.
