I've reviewed literally hundreds of beers from Chico, California, and yet, this is the first one from this brewery. Tough geographical competition, "hey, let's open a brewery in the same town as possibly the greatest in the world." The balls on these guys (or girls or uh, whatevers).
Pours that yellow golden color familiar as beer and a pilsner. I guess if they're making lagers they might not have too much competition in the area. 3/4" white head, we're off to a good start. Aroma hits that lager yeast, grain and Saaz like hop. 3/3 there, hey this is a good foray.
Taste continued with a lemongrass hop appeal, light bodied grain impact, all barley, pilsner maltings apparent. BUT ARE THEY FLOOR MALTINGS!!! I don't really care about that marketing angle. Its a crowd pleaser, nerds and regular beer drinkers alike I would think. I vote twice. Crisp light bread, equal parts white and mass produced sourdough. Serviceable and respectable at the same time.

Taster at taproom. Pale golden, clear, small tight head. Aroma is bready malts, grassy, meadow. Taste is full grainy flavors with a small bitterness around the edges. Hard to describe, but its spot on.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
