Before there was an asylum at Fairfield Hills, the area was a working farm. The Keating Family raised cattle and dairy cows throughout the late 1800's. Being German immigrants, they enjoyed home-brewed Kölsch style beers.

No date on the can...
L: Pours a straw color with good clarity. A slow tilted pour gives a fine, white two finger of head that quickly dies leaving a 1mm ring and thin film. Not much in the way of lacing as the beer goes down...a few spots here and there.
S: Not getting much on the nose. A bit of noble hop character and a bit of grainy malt.
T: Lemons, spicy grassiness, a bit of grainy malt character, and the finish has a low bitterness.
F: It has a light body with medium-low carbonation. I wanted a bit more carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and clean with a very low dryness on the finish.
O: This is a decent take on the style. Worth trying if you are a kölsch fan.
