2014 vintage.
Collaboration between a winemaker from Chasing Harvest and a brewer in NZ, apparently imported by a guy in Chicago. Label says it's based on a "Belgian Red" but I don't really see it. Color is a dark amber, bright clarity, ample carbonation. Billowing head of foam initially, that fades after a few sips. Aromas of apple butter and wet musty dishrags, also something vaguely bready that reminds me of Brett. Tart with some vaguely Pinot fruit flavor. Light funk, some Brett, the structure is starting to erode i'd say. Still an interesting wild experiment, but probably better 6 years ago.
