L: Pours near-black, oily dark brown. Does not form a head, nor any lacing or retention on top. There are miniscule bubbles that rise to the surface. Held to the light, an opaque fudge-like, dark brown hue. Near-black in appearance.
S: Both rum and bourbon barrels on the nose, imparting a sweet booziness. Notes of coconut, cinnamon, and vanilla, fainter aromas of banana and almonds.
T: Rum barrel dominates the bourbon barrel, with a healthy dose of dark chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon. Bananas and almonds shine in the finish, which is sweet with a flourish of rum. Decadent and boozy.
F: Full-bodied. Rich, velvety, thick mouthfeel. A slight amount of carbonation.
O: A very strong AIS/dessert stout with an excellent synthesis of flavors which leans sweet without becoming cloying. The rum and bourbon barrels elevate this beer. Worth a try.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. Had 9/22/23.
Pours an opaque dark brown, thick looking, with a brief head and a little foamy cling. Aromas of rum, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, some banana and cinnamon, some bourbon, a hint of almond. Flavors of rum, cinnamon, coconut, vanilla, chocolate, brown sugar, malt, some bourbon- more as it warms. It’s a little sweet. Smooth, a thinner fuller body, appropriately carbonated.
The rum barrels show more when colder, the bourbon barrels show more when warmed. Lots of good aromas and flavors, but whatever banana was there when it was fresh has faded and the almonds are a rumor. It has its shortcomings (a little thin and sweet, missing add- ins), but overall it’s pretty good.

Black in color with no light penetration. There's a fingernail of brown around the rim. The aroma is of raisins, chocolate chips, coconut, almonds, and rum. I'm tasting raisins, chocolate chips, coconut, rum, and bourbon. The mouth is sticky, chewy, and dry.

All the flavors were present. Muddled but nothing overpowers the other. Some vinegar tones were present but subtle. Lacks barrel character. Feel was fairly full although lacking for a 15%er.
