I visited District Brewing while cruising around the Skagit valley a couple weeks ago. On my visit, they had 10 of their beers on tap, plus several guest ciders and a couple guest beers (both sours). Their styles included 4 IPAs, a helles, amber ale, "pub ale", hefeweizen, Pilsner, and Scotch ale. So, a decent enough selection, if a bit IPA-heavy. The pilsner was pretty good, and while it took a few sips, the Flux Capacitor IPA started to grow on me.

The space is kind of industrial with clean lines and and plenty of metal, but also with wood accents and an overall welcoming feel; there's a nice patio outside as well. The whole back wall of the taproom is a window into the brewing facility, which you know I always love. There's no bar to sit at, but there are some bar-style seats along the windows. Service is quick and friendly, you just order up at the bar, but as there is no bar seating you can't exactly chit-chat with the bartenders.

They do pizza and wings here, although I didn't have anything. I can definitely see myself heading back up this way to sample more of what District has to offer in the future.

Another new brewery in downtown MV, right on the towns riverside walking trail. A few outdoor tables (probably more during the warmer weather) leads into the main room. Service is counter-only, a real PITA IMHO, and you have to pay (card-only) with each round (an even BIGGER PITA!).

I tried 5 of their brews, out of about a dozen taps, and they also had about a half-dozen guest taps. They serve Detroit-style pizza. i had the basic sausage pie (my litmus test) and the crust was good, but the sausage was scant, and was the pre-fab pellets, not house-ground.

The vibe is basically sports bar-ish, with several big screens around the room, and a view through large glass windows into the brewhouse. There is an upstairs seating area, but I didn't go check it out.

Overall, a decent enough place, and if they would do table service I would like it a lot better.
