From the bottle, it pours a hazy very dark brown with lighter brown edges and a frothy light brown head. The head quickly diminishes to a half inch thick layer atop the beer. A bit of oats in the nose. Taste is hard for me to describe: smooth possibly with a very slight sour profile that feels velvety in the mouth.
