A 4 pack of 16 fl oz pull-tab cans ran me $12.99 USD plus tax at a convenience store in New Orleans, LA. Colorful label art with a vaguely pyschedelic vibe.
4.8% ABV. "Super session Mosaic pale ale." Zony Mash/NoLa Brewing collaboration.
Has a luscious fruitiness to its hop profile and I do find Mosaic's signature subtle blueberry flavour when I search for it. The rest of this straightforward pale ale's flavour profile is just pale malt/2-row. It's a no-nonsense Mosaic driven pale ale that's plenty drinkable but leaves something to be desired in terms of its hop profile (why not marry Mosaic with Citra or something more exciting?), depth of flavour, and complexity. It finishes on this honeyed sweetness note I don't really dig and the beer as a whole is a bit unbalanced.
$3+ per can is a bit steep for a 4.8% pale ale, but I guess this is brewed for charity during COVID-19 so they kind of get a pass. Still, if this bested other pale ales in town I have to imagine they'd raise more money...
