This was the second beer from Zony Mash that I picked up at the Total Wine in Baton Rouge, Louisiana when I was down that way not too long ago. Loved the label and saw that their offering were rated highly on here and indeed, this was solid too as it was indeed a fluffy IPA that would fit in with offerings from this neck of the woods!
Nice pour to this as the liquid was milky, golden, and uniform in hue. A full and slow-settling head topped this off as the lacing was some of the best that I've seen in quite some time. Extensive, and layered, it lingered in the form of well-defined rings as the suds on top of the liquid never fully subsided. Lots of bright, juicy tropical fruit from the Idaho 7 in the nose as the taste followed suit. Gooseberry, passion and star fruit, and Hawaiian Punch filled the taste as this was indeed soft, dank, and pillowy on the palate. Worthy of a lip smack, this had a nice stickiness to it with hints of wheat and weed from the Mosaic even though this was more juicy than anything else.
So much to like here, even down to the alcohol as that was noticeable but not a deterrent, as it warmed me up but didn't take away from the flavor profile of this brew. No date was to be found anywhere on this can but this felt fresh as could be as there wasn't any sediment to be seen in the liquid. Lots to enjoy here and even though examples of this are readily found, this was on par with more popular takes from the coasts. Look for this if you're down in the Pelican State!
