500ml bottle in Bavaria. The beer pours a clear, golden-yellow color with a slight frothy white head that settles smoothly. Its clarity and inviting hue make it visually appealing, typical of a well-crafted Bayrisch Hell. Aroma is on the nose, Wirts Madl presents subtle malt sweetness complemented by mild floral and hay-like notes. There’s a gentle hint of hop character that balances the malt profile without overpowering it. Taste is clean and crisp, showcasing a well-balanced malt backbone with a gentle bitterness from the hops. The taste is smooth, with a slight breadiness and a touch of sweetness that lingers pleasantly on the palate. Better than I expected.

From a 0.5l bottle gifted to me by Björn, my host in München last Fall. Has a best by date of 02APR25....

Poured into a Willi Becher it is a clear, vibrant golden color. Has sparse, slow carbo within. Up top was a marshmallow-white 1/2" dollop of suds. It slowly ebbs down to a covering layer, with solid lace left behind. Has a bready, crackery malt nose with some herbal hopping. Body is medium, with light prickle on the tongue.

Taste is similar to the aroma, with light, malty sweetness. Has more toasty, bready notes and a subtle hint of green apple. Finish is dry, with more herbal, floral hop action. Solid! Thnx, Björn! Prost!!

Wirts Madl Bayrisch Hell 1516
Gebraut und abgefüllt fur die REWE Markt
,5 l brown glass bottle, "Mhb: 09.03.18 09:24" and sampled on 26.09.17

Wirts Madl pours a crystal clear golden body beneath a finger thick head of rocky bright white foam. It doesn't hold that well, but it leaves some very nice lacing throughout the glass. It's aroma is of sweetish malt with a hint of light yeasty fruitiness and a subtle herbal hoppiness behind. The flavor follows, opening it up a bit, but following the same tracks. It's distinctly grainy and sweetish with a light touch of apple-like fruitiness. A moderate bitterness balances it, and it finishes mostly dry with a quick passing dollop of sweet malt and then some rising herbal hops. It's medium-light in body and gently crisp. Overall it's a flavorful, really well balanced, and highly drinkable Münich style helles.
