Born out of a recipe from our homebrewing days, Adelaide is our take on recreating the oft overlooked Adambier style. Hailing from the era of pre-industrialized malting processes, these strong ales exhibited a smoke-forward profile from the use of wood-fired kilns and were usually aged for an extended period in wood.

A barrel aged Adambier. A slight soured old ale. Not a sour, but some sourness. Faint sweetness. Oxidized, some vinous qualities. Dark but clear, light brown minimal head. A handsome beer. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. A must try - can’t recall having anything similar to this. Standard old ale is the closest. Is this a classical old ale - no, not as far as I am concerned , but I like it.
