One is tempted to call this a Vienna Lager, as in the capital of Austria, but it's a bright golden color and nothing like a Vienna or Helles Lager. Or you could call it a Bohemian Pilsner but the delicate hand with the hops doesn't quite suit that either.
This is an excellent Lager in any case, kissed by hops and enlivened by malt. It's a cool flavor, though, with a nice biscuit flavor and a fruity note but not noticeably sweet. The melon taste grows and the finish is just slightly bitter. Perfectly balanced, light, and delicious. Interestingly this is the first Fair Isle brew I have found to be drinkable. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Illegible date stamp.
