Ordered from Tavour, chilled and hard poured into a hurricane glass.
Look: cloudy purple red, almost grape colored with a two inch light pink head that dissipated slowly leaving smallish light pink foam and a nice off white colored lacing down the glass as we drank.
Smell: berry smell up front with maltiness, perhaps graham cracker on the back
Taste: berry notes up front, maybe some blackberry (not sure about the currant), spices in the middle (super light cinnamon), trailing malt (but not really graham). No vanilla, no booze and a slight hop note
Feel: light and crisp, heavy tickle of carbonation, most lactose containing brews are pretty smooth, this one is not. Almost drying like they used rye in the mash
This is a good looking berry-beer. The idea of a fruit cobbler with blackberry, black currant, cinnamon, graham cracker and vanilla should provide a real cobbler experience, but this one fails on almost all fronts. Tastes like a light, fruity Berliner (but it is not a weisse mouthfeel or smoothness). Really fell flat for what we were expecting given the description.
Cheers everyone!
