Inky black body, opaque; thin head, light khaki colored, patchy. Bold espresso and roasted malt grain smell; a strange yet alluring sweetness in the background. The taste exudes dark roast coffee and honey; cocoa and vanilla tones; moderately boozy. Moderately heavy body; thin oiliness; slippery; fine residual sugar presence; sweet mouthfeel overall offset with a light alcohol warmth.
An interesting coffee based stout; richly sweet with a fine espresso counterpoint.
Pouring temperature: 45 °F; canning data: PKG:1/21/22

16oz can, pub nonic; doesn't pour as thick and opaque as I expected, more red notes with some light showing through the glass, with a small khaki head. The nose and palate are similar; espresso, vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate, not necessarily in that order, but its consistent and well-executed. Not acrid or overly roasted, but balanced well between the coffee characteristics and the sweetness from the mocha and vanilla, combined with a solid dusting of cinnamon. Good stuff.
