On tap. Murky brown color.
Lots of wood, oak, barrel. Tannins and bourbon. Caramel, toffee, vanilla, dark dried fruits. Raisins, figs, and plums. Very warming, very strong, but not unpleasant. I think I like the other versions better, but this is still great. The booze just overtakes things a bit much.

This 500ML bottle is my second sampling of EOP, the first being on tap at Falling Knife during the release celebration. Split with my wife.
The pour is the ultimately in liquified clay – murky, muddy, roiled damp red. The nose has only echoes of the original caramel, which is bludgeoned mostly to death by the BARREL.
Extremely Old Painless is Very Old Painless on horse pills. A storm of malts & barley do hand-to-hand with the barrels, & lose. Bourbon bounces off every wall. Caramel, burnt brown sugar, suet, sweetness. Oh, & booze. I should have drunk this by myself.
I can’t knock it down for the brewery’s sky-high bottle prices, but I want to. This is a superb beer. Keep doing it up, FN.
