Super cool can art, and I’ve never heard of an AAL (Mexican, no less) that is wood-aged. but even so, I probably wouldn’t have bought this one if the local beer store hadn’t recommended it.

From a 12 oz can into a snifter. Pours a slightly cloudy amber brown, with a solid finger of big off-white bubbly head, decent retention. Mainly get toasted grain on the nose, kind of sharp. Taste brings a little more interesting combination of notes: everything from the nose but also some sweet and mellow corn, maybe a hint of some earthy and herbal hoppiness, too. Has a depth of (fairly basic) flavor and freshness that I don’t associate with AALs, but much appreciated. Body is full without being heavy, carb is middling to low, mouthful is watery and not very crisp at the end. Refreshing and (for the style) kind of interesting. Rated to style: solid, enjoyable, and somewhat unique.

12oz can. Date stamp on bottom lip is 'PKG: 3/15/24'.
Clear, medium amber colored body. Off white head, which persists as a thin cap. Leaves behind short strings of lacing.
Aroma is dark toasted malt.
Taste is sweet toasted malt and an earthy flavor from the wood aging.
Medium mouth feel. Clean and crisp finish. Good carbonation.
Refreshing, with a bit of wood seasoning.
