Pours a reddish brown with low, wispy head.
Smell is sweet and a bit spicy. Notes of port, dried fruit, raisins, fudge and some pine and wood.
Taste is sweet with some spices. Notes of dried fruit, port, toffee, raisins, wood and pine. There is some mushroomy umami that doesn't quite mesh, and a soft bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium and smooth, but a bit undercarbonated.
Overall, a good barley wine with some odd flavors and too flat.
