Copenhagen 22/5 2023. 44 cl can from Fish & Beer, Amagerbrogade, Kbh. S. Dark can with some gold foil giving reflection and the name of the beer and Hopalaa's simple logo in white.
Pours opaque dark brown with a big beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin but unbroken layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a dark, sweet malty odor with some roasted notes. Hides the high ABV pretty well. Dark malts, syrup, brown sugar. Bitter coffee and dark chocolate.
Low carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undertone. Lingering. Finish is slightly dry yet sugary.
Potent Imperial Stout with prominent flavor and a more discrete nose.
