Hopalaa’s Black Toffee Nut is an Imperial Stout from the Latvian brewery Hopalaa. This beer focuses on the balance between the dark, roasted malts and a distinct sweetness from toffee. The addition of nuts gives a round and bold finish that complements the heavy body. The mouthfeel is oily and coats the tongue with layers of dark chocolate and caramel.

Copenhagen 18/5 2026. 33 cl can from Øltanken webshop. Black can with glass-like shards in silver, orange and purple.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small, bubbly beige head. Disappears fairly fast leaving only a ultra thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet and sugary malty odor mingling with liqueur and pastries. Brown sugar, toffee and a bit of caramel. Vanilla and raisins. Alcohol peeking in.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, viscous, fat, creamy, soft, flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sugary sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a boozy undertone. Lingering. Finish is semi-dry soaked in alcohol.
Toffee and alcohol. Great companions.
