This is a really decent go at a Czech pilsner from an Irish brewery. Packaging is a little naff, considering it's origin but I'll forgive it. Pours murky amber with light to mid carbonation. Nose is nutty and some sort of stone fruit. Taste is mild bread/yeast but pleasant. Smooth and creamy feel. Easy, easy drinking.

This is a Tesco-brand beer, brewed in Ireland (Pearse Lyons Brewery) but presented as an eastern-European import. The beer is light golden in color, with no head when poured carefully, and nice aroma of bread with notes of apricot(?). The mouthfeel is smooth, not particularly gassy, pleasantly refreshing. The flavor is yeast-forward, with light sour notes and just a touch of bitterness from the hops. The taste inherits much from the bread-infused aroma of fermentation, and has a decent amount of complexity beyond that. It's easy to drink, a very pleasant experience. The 2019 of this beer called out its lightstrike-prone green bottle: well, it seems that Tesco paid attention to the issue, since the bottle I have in front of me is made of nice deep brown glass. The shape is pretty much standard, and the label design, while nice, doesn't have a huge amount of personality. Still, it's tasteful and feels appropriate to the beer it represents. Despite the silly name and rather prosaic local origins (not a downside, in my book) it's a beer worth trying out.
