This year’s CODE is a session NEIPA. It pours a pale milky yellow. Pleasant upon the nose, sharp scents of grapefruit, melon, and orange. Upon the tongue, it’s immediately sharp and pulls hard the roof of my mouth. Distinctly citrus, I get grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, and some overripe melon. The feel was strange at first, too sharp, but there is an unexpected syrup to this once it settles back. It bites once more in the finish. Solid beer. Quite a departure from the Milk/Murk Shake IPA presentations from the previous CODEs. Great take on a Session though.
