Located just off Elm Street near the railroad tracks, this brewpub offer about 12 beers made on premises. It's spacious with a couple of TVs offering sports above the bar. The bar is generally for walk up orders as there is no table service. The food is typical bar fare with burgers, wings, etc. You walk up to a different counter to order this. They do bring the food to your table.
The beer is offered as half (8 ounce) and regular (16 ounce) pours. Decent variety over the 12 beers offered on tap. Everyone is friendly in the southern style. I do like how all of the tables are spread out giving everyone plenty of room. There is also outdoor seating under an awning for those preferring fresh air.

Greensboro surprises me as a beer city, and SouthEnd Brewing was the first of three breweries which I visited during a recent stay. Like its name, it is just south of downtown and across from another place serving fancy suds (Boxcar). Light crowd on a Thursday night, but something about the street it was on and the large outdoor patio made it seem much more lively than the crowd would indicate. Lots of space to crawl around inside and especially around the bar.
SouthEnd pours both beer and wine, but I'm here for the beer. 13 different house beers pouring with an attempt to go into different styles instead of 4 or 5 different IPA's. My visit offered the choices of pilsner, blonde ale, golden mild, black lager, amber and Vienna lager, fruited gose, witbier, pale ale, and of course IPA and Double IPA. Witty Beer Name and Lightest Thing We Have (Witbier and Pilsner) were respectable beers to drink, poured into branded beaker-like glassware. Quick service at the bar and an easy to read beer menu made the transaction process easy and streamlined.

Went with my girlfriend for St. Paddy's day. They had a special event with a band and everything. Loved sitting on the patio with the band. Plenty of string lights up with some fire pits outside for when it gets dark. Standard table seating and wooden bar vibes inside. Every beer had it's own board on the wall with artwork in chalk. Great all around beers to style and quality. The food was outstanding. Everything ordered at the bar and kitchen. Got fried zucchini, pretzels/beer cheese, and a cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries. Near a railway so it gets a bit loud occasionally; that is really my own complaint, but it is right on the south side of downtown anyways.
