Birra del Moro S.a.s. “Dama del Deserto”
33cl. Brown glass bottle, “Da consumarsi entro is/ numero di lotto: 10 20 CD”
€3,33
Notes via stream of consciousness: A German-style hefeweizen for breakfast - perfetto! A rough pour has brought up but a tiny head of creamy white foam atop a hazy but not cloudy golden body with an orange sheen to it. Italians don’t like their beer with too much carbonation so that makes sense but it’s not exactly to style. The aroma offers green banana and some additional yeasty character that I’ve not encountered before. It’s not bad, it’s just unusual. On to the flavor... more green banana! There’s some sweeter ripe banana there as well, and some apple. It’s not very bitter with just 13 IBUs but there is a kind of rough edge to it. I’m guessing that’s due to fermentation but if it was a hot fermentation there’d be even more character to it. Maybe it’s just the specific strain of yeast that they’ve used. In the mouth it’s medium-light in body and gently crisp-then-smooth. In the end no one would mistake it for anything other than a hefeweizen although the appearance and carbonation don’t exactly fit.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
