Dark, dark brew with less of the foam than the usual stouts, but in a Scottish thistle glass, so what do you expect? Inviting dark roasted grain aroma. Just a hint of chocolate, roasted malt, and a touch of sweetness. Moderate bitterness and a charred grain aftertaste, but just about right between the malt and the bitter. I'd have to agree it's better than Guinness these days. From the 16 oz can purchased at Trader Joes. Dated 02/03/2026.

Canned 2/7/24, consumed from a modified perfect pint on 6/24/24. Beautiful, black beer with long- lasting 1/8 inch tan head. Not a lot of smell, but it may improve as it warms. Classic roasted grain flavor. A bit of bittersweet chocolate and slightly burnt coffee. A little on the thin side. Overall better than Guiness.

L: dark black, opaque
S: (via foam) Chocolate, coffee, malt - Wow, Great!
T: Reminiscent of a Guiness, but better complexity. Stronger bitter
F hop.: What I expected for one so dark, smooth.
O: Preferred over a Guiness -- flavors a little louder. Excellent.
My 16oz can from Trader Joes says 5% ABV

Look: Nitro so poured straight from the can - dark black pour with thick foam risen to the surface about 3 fingers length. Surprised because nitro's are supposed to be clear of foam.
Smell: Getting some hints of coffee, slight chocolate, light malts.
Taste: Good malty slight chocolaty taste with a smooth after finish.
Feel: Light to no carbonation. Light bodied beer.
Overall: Not bad! Wasn't expecting it to be great but it was a good beer overall. Wouldn't buy again but it was a good experience.

I haven’t been to Ireland, but I’m thinking a little something like this: Guinness is good. It’s fine. But there’s still something just a tad off about it. It’s notexactly bad, but it’s not perfect. So I picture Raul in Dublin, in some bar, and working a hottie. It’s all good. We’re just vibing and doing it. Later we get to her place, and we’re going at it like a drunk lass and Raul do. And then right before she takes me to her room, she says, “Hold on, let me take out my dentures.” And Tthats Guinness. An Irish hottie, but with dentures. What? Oh, I’m not drinking Guinness. So yeah, this beer is a hottie without dentures.
