Citra Loves Galaxy from Brewery X. Received from @2beerdogs in a LIF. Reviewed 26/08/25 (Review 3568). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom stamped “B. O. D. 6/21/25.” Stored at home at 40 degrees F. Served at 42.9 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 51.8 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), clear.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), clear. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Average (Maximum 3.0 cm, aggressive center pour). White, high density, average retention, leaving a 0.9 – 1.0 cm jagged crown and a rocky partial cap.
Lacing – Good. Wide band of tiny to small bubbles, with the lower edge breaking into Indonesia-like islands.
Aroma – 4 – Vaguely grapefruity. No malt, no alcohol.
Flavor – 4 – Begins slightly bitter with slight citrus and hints of tropical fruits, but nothing distinct enough to assign a name. Moderately bitter. No alcohol (7 % ABV, according to the label). No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Slight gastric warming.
Palate – 3 – Medium: Watery: Lively carbonation.
Style: Follows the style guidelines as condensed by BA.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Uncredited label artist. Decent but unremarkable Murican IPA.

the feel is pretty good and the taste is sharp but the rest of the beer is just alright. this is a lighter sort of IPA, bitter, crisp and refreshing. it features sappy notes which are very enjoyable and on par for a hop blend. the look and smell are kinda weak. buttery finish.

Canned 4/22/25. Poured into a modified perfect pint on 5/15.Pours a deep gold with voluminous white, fluffy, but somewhat short- lived, head. Gobs of lacing. Absolutely crystal clear liquid; a beautiful beer. Really nice balance of both bitterness and fruity/ piney flavor and smell. A successful showcase of the two named hops.
