A: Pours a lightly hazy medium golden yellow in color with light to moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate bright yellow + pale yellow + honey colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a couple of small patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled thin film covering approximately 70% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of estery yeast giving off lots of banana and a light amount of clove. Moderate aromas of wheat + grainy malts with light to moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. No perceptible hop presence and a light aroma of vanilla.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of wheat + grainy malts with light to moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of vanilla. Next there is a slightly stronger than moderate flavor of yeast esters - lots of banana and a lighter amount of clove. Finally there is no perceptible hop presence and minimal amounts of bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp initially.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasant enough mouthfeel that was refreshing on a warm spring evening. Enjoyable - the addition of the lactose + vanilla to a Hefeweizen is interesting and complementary, not over the top.
