Located downtown, looks like an old tavern. The corner lot next door is ope, so they use it as a big outdoor beer garden, with tents and outside bar. Karaoke on a Sunday evening, other than that kind of quiet. Service was great, beers are good too. The inside looks like it has tons of character.....

visited this place on a short York Brewery tour. Tried to hit Collusion and it was closed and hit Liquid Hero just prior.
The space at Gift Horse is fairly small with an L shaped bar and some table chair sets with a slightly more open space further into the building and a video game machine. The staff are very friendly and very courteous as we asked questions. There are about 12 draft lines and 4 of which are in house lines. A little disappointed with the number of house beers available, but oh well.
The beers from the house are a blond ale, a NEIPA, a cream ale and a pale ale. So all hops on draft. I have the blond ale and its fine and my friend has the cream ale and its also find. The blond isnt amazing, but also isnt flawed.
There are a few TVs and no food but its generally a good experience and I would go back, but would hope for a wider range of house beers for visitors. Decent spot to visit, but not a solo tour spot if only place you want to visit in York.

I didn't add this place, but I will be the first to review it. I showed up on a Saturday around 9:30. The place had a nice sized crowd, a singer/guitarist playing oldies, and a bit of an older crowd. It was well lit, and there is shuffleboard in the back and a beer garden on the side for use during warmer months. There were about a dozen beers on tap, I had a pint of their NEIPA, a pint of their Blonde Ale, and a 12 oz. pour of their ADIPA, all at $6 a glass. Service was friendly enough and overall it's worth stopping in.
