Appearance: Pours a fairly clear, coppery-tan body with a slimming, off-white head.
Smell: Toasted sweet braided breads, moderately spiced raw sugars interwoven with a generous portion of pitted fruits, a spray bottle's spritz of clean alcohol and late stage, spent bourbon barrel shavings.
Taste: Sweet-tasting maltiness with plentiful bready toastiness. Bourbon infused dark brown sugar atop rather tangy cherries, fermented plum juice followed by a phenolic spiciness aided by the warming alcohol presence. For claiming it comes from a mere hop variety, there is a surpising amount of vanilla-tinged bourbony character throughout. Finishes nicely warming with an earthy, piquant spiciness of pepper and clove.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Fairly enjoyable BSDA.
