A smooth sip, with a light body and hints of chocolate and Vermont maple syrup. Finishes with light bitterness from Magnum hops.

Pours black, with rich mahogany highlights that appear to be clear. A 2" beige froth holds for a few minutes before collapsing to an thick blanket. The Pretentious Glass Co. "Malty" pint glass collects thick, wide patches of lace.
The aroma has a light sweetness of malt, and hardly any trace of roast. It is a tad fruity with berries and faint sourness of milk chocolate. There is an emphasis on lactose.
A modest roasted malt is simultaneously quite bitter. Black coffee and baker's chocolate come to mind. The finish is long, astringent and generally unpleasant.
It has a medium body with a wooly texture. Light prickly carbonation lifts the alcohol to above expectations.
Forgetting style, this is a fair drinking beer, nothing exotic. I would relegate it to something to drink while throwing horseshoes with friends.
