Back by popular demand, our Kölsch has made its triumphant return! If you like old fashioned light beers, give this one a try. This beer achieves its flavor with a delicate balance between honey notes from Pilsner malt and bright, floral German Hallertau hops. This Kölsch uses a German Ale yeast fermented cold to create a crisp, dry beer that finishes with a slightly malty backbone.

Clear, golden straw, with 3" of white head that slowly settles from a tight foam to lose seafoam. Lacing forms a webbing around the stange glass.
The aroma is crisp and clean grains, followed by light honey and mild spice.
The crisp grain continues with a balance of mild bitterness and sweetness. Not much going on here.
Fine carbonation bursts throughout the mouth. The alcohol is very mild, almost absent. Texture is like course silk. It is fairly dry.
This one improved with about a month of age (bought fresh at the brewery via crowler). It has a pleasant quality for a late Spring afternoon, and probably would be a good choice during the summer heat. It lacks pizazz and is a simple drinking beer.

On tap at brewery:
Pretty much what I have come to expect from the style, though maybe it’s a tad on the bitter side versus originals of the style.
Clear straw color with white bubbles that come in as a reaction to agitation more than staying atop the brew. Nose is earthy grain with a bit of dry grass bitterness. Taste opens slightly honey sweet, then there’s a tomato stem to grape leaf note that balances that before turning bitter with kites of pepper and grass. Light and refreshing, with slightky below average carbonation, but overall enjoyable.
