Golden straw with light haze and straw highlights (SRM 3-4). The 2" head is tight and white foam that slowly compresses, leaving a coating of lace. While pouring into a Strangebird IIPA glass, there was a brief cascading action of carbonation.
It opens with grassy hops and wet pine needles. Light grains and cedar add a touch of character.
Bitterness is light, slightly greater than the sweetness. It tastes like an old school IPA and seems more English than American. No need to quibble. The finish is mild, and moderately long. Hops are expressed from beginning to end.
A full to medium body with course cotton texture of denim. Soft fizzy carbonation and alcohol are both as expected. The finish is dry with no astringency.
Another crowler, filled fresh at the brewery, that improved with a few weeks age. The fresh pour was a bit harsh and muddy. I enjoyed this on a cool and sunny Spring afternoon.
