Copenhagen 17/2 2024. 44 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. White can in Slowburn's usual design with a horned goat as motif.
Pours unclear dark amber with a small off-white head. Stable. Settles as thin but unbroken layer og foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a bit of alcohol and sweet spice. Caramel, toffee and hints of brown sugar. Nuts and plums. Metallic alcohol.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, slightly viscous, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet without being cloying. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry with a touch of alcohol.
Wholesome Doppelbock.
