Began my journey here, a few blocks from the endpoint of Metra's UP-W line, without which I wouldn't have even known about the town's existence. Split between two locations, a taphouse/restaurant and a mead hall, I chose the former due to time constraints and the fact that the latter wasn't open yet. Slightly different menus between them, if memory serves. Located in a large-ish building a half-block from the main intersection (at least, as it seemed to me), the place has a bar up front, plenty of seating around, and the brewing equipment in the back. They say they smoke everything on their food menu, so it smells goddamn fantastic in there. Good start, which I tried some of the food. Next time. Via a couple flights I had the entire range on offer that was new to me and available (a couple were out), and I jammed out to the rather nice soundtrack, which seemed to have been lifted from my iTunes library at times. Most of the beers are solid, a few need some tweaks, and some of the descriptions are way off the mark (whatever that salty spritzer one was, it sure as hell wasn't an alt, Untappd!). Staff are welcoming and attentive and know about what they're serving. Prices are pretty good, likely due to the area (no complaints here!). Overall, it's a bit out of the way, but if you're anywhere close (or wanna hit the train like I did), this place is more than worth a look-see.
