Pours black with mahogany on the edges and a dense, creamy tan head. Beautiful stout, IMHO. The nose has a vegetal quality that I’m guessing is from the clove that doesn’t quite fit with the cinnamon and chocolate notes.
The clove isn’t really present on the taste, though, especially as this warms, and the cinnamon and molasses flavors step forward. The mouthfeel is pretty full and approaches creamy.
This tries to do a bit too much, but it’s still really hitting the spot on a chilly evening in Northern Indiana.
