From a 16oz can, undated, purchased at the brewery 10/04/20. Served in a willi becher glass.
Pours a lightly hazy, pale straw-gold with a finger-and-a-half of soft, pouffy foam. Retention is pretty good, leaving a frothy cap and a loose webbery of foamy lacing.
Aroma is mildly sweet and reminds me of the smell of cookies, maybe the brown sugar.
Taste is softly malty, subtly spicy, and with a soda or lemon seltzer-like dryness. Hop bitterness is understated with oily orange rind predominant.
Feel is clean and quenching, medium-light bodied with ample carbonation. Drying at the end.
Overall, a very good pale ale. It’s not a showboat; there’s nothing that says ‘wow,’ but it is a flawless beer from start to finish. I picked up a single can - kudos to West LA for selling singles, btw - but will not hesitate to buy the whole four-pack next time.
