Had a pint on tap at their Hallowell homebase.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy, muddy brown with some orange-ruby character. Lots of lacing. Pretty good one-finger head that lingers a bit.
Aroma: Smells of wheat, citrus, dark malt, brown bread crust, and some lemon. A wee touch of spice, too.
Taste: Very tasty dunkel that follows the nose. Wheat and citrus are most forward, and that brown bread crust note is there.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Nice depth for an autumn-type offering. Easy on the palate despite the somewhat complex flavor profile.
Overall: Pretty delicious dunkel from this Maine brewer, who have yet to let me down. Had this with a veggie burger (tasty!) at their home base restaurant. A nice companion on a chilly early fall night.
