Our most complex brew with seven different types of barley and oats. This is stronger and hoppier than Tarbox, with the oats imparting a well-rounded mouthfeel.

On tap at the source.
Rich dark brown/black color with a frothy creamy off white head that persists forever. Aromas of roast, vanilla, earth, hint of chocolate. The flavor follows the aroma with just a hint of metallic in the background. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, medium body. Nice dry-ish stout, I quite enjoyed it with my drunken pot roast.

First taste at The liberal Cup Pub, on tap.
A: Deep black that made me expect something heavier.
S: Slight coffee, more heavy roasted grain/malt?
T: The initial taste is what I expected and followed the aroma. that's where I hesitated and dropped the rating to 4.0. I was a little let down due to the light finish (which my wife liked).
M: Mouth feel was good but falls off.
O: A good stout to have with a meal. Lite on the stomach and won't over power food but you know you had a stout.

Liberal Cup's Oatmeal stout pours a dark brown with ruby red edges and a thick, creamy tan head. The head sticks around throughout out most of the drink, and its solid body deposits a fair amount of lacing on my glass.
There are roasted aromas, some coffee and a bit of sweetness in the aroma.
Liberal Cup manages to marry a pretty nice array of flavors in their oatmeal stout. It is very sweet yet satisfying as it leans on some residual sweetness from the oatmeal, dark malts and some caramel malts, and flavors of milk chocolate. The roasted aroma that I picked up isn't very noticeable in the flavor, which has a lot more coffee than I would have expected, but I'm not complaining. The finish is dry with a hint of hop bitterness, which rounds things out nicely.
The body is thick, smooth and creamy. Oatmeal just does nice things to the mouthfeel of a stout. I think the nitro/co2 mix worked out nicely for this brew also.
The Liberal Cup is an impressive little brew pub, and this is a pretty good Oatmeal Sout.

On tap poured into an imperial pint glass.
Pours a nIce dark black with light mohagony notes and a small but cramy brown head that stays. Nose is light but oatmealy and roasty, nice.
Taste is spot on for the style. Roasty and rich a bit of burnt notes and coffee. It's got a light dry finish thaw super smooth and creamy.

I submitted a name change and new abv for this one, so let's see what happens...Anyway, had this on tap last weekend at the LC. Pour when served looked like black coffee topped with a tan latte head. That thick head stayed through-out the beer, and also gave one a 'milk moustache.' Aroma was very nice, delectable combination of hot milk chocolate/oatmeal/and a cup of joe. Taste delivered varying interpretations of the same, with the mouthfeel being thin-medium. Nice.
