Darker, heavier, and more potent than Bug Lager, this long-conditioned lager goes down like nectar. You won't even notice the bugs biting you

Poured on tap into an 8oz pilsner style glass.
A real nice orange amber body color with lots of rising carbonation. Not much of a head presented while serving but always manages a good collar.
Wonderful interesting nose on this. Slightly fruity with husky ripping grain and hints of brown spices. Mild cinnamon, and hot cloves.
Taste brings a sweet caramel palate, then soft malt with mild chewy brown bread goodness. Yeasty a bit, with also a little bit of crispness. Carbonation feels fairly middle of the road and alright.
Overall a real interesting take on an amber lager, very nice.

On tap poured into a 12oz tulip
pours a nice deep clear red with tiny bit of light lacing. Nose is light and hoppy with the residual sweetness.
Taste is sharp and sweet, abv is almost noticable. There's a good amount of hops in this, it leaves a lingering bitterness. Very smooth and easy drinking.

I wish that the Liberal Cup had a webpage with information about their beer.
On tap at the Liberal Cup, in a weizen glass.
A: This beer is gorgeous! It's definitely an American Amber. It has a coppery, tawny hue to it, although it is mild enough that at first it looks like an American Lager. It also has a solid one finger of foamy head.
S: Mmm... well what have we here? Sweet malt, subtle hops, and a slight apple-y smell.
T: Delicious! This is such a step up from Bug Lager! The bartender described it as having "twice the flavor of Bug Lager," and I'd support that claim all the way. It opens up nice and slightly sweet (not cloying) with mid-palate balancing hops. Incidently, it has the same mid-palate green apple taste that Bug Lager has, although it is much more subdued, and plays a secondary role to the malt taste. The finish is crisp and simple.
M: Enough substance to it to let you know you're drinking a real beer without getting in the way of what is essentially a session style.
D: This goes down exceptionally well even by American Lager standards.
Finally! A nice, simple, American Lager that slaked my thirst without boring me!
I do hope that this brew finds its way into The Cup's regular rotation. For that matter, I would like to see this one replace Bug Lager altogether because it is a substantially better beer.
