On tap at the source.
Comes to the table a slightly hazy medium golden color with a long lasting bubbly off white head. Aromas of resinous earthy pine hops with just enough caramel maltiness to back it up. The flavor is full of earthy resinous hop flavor with a moderate to harsh level of bitterness. Light bready caramel malt backs it up. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation, light astringency. A little harsh at times but I had no trouble downing a pint. Curiously served in a smaller glass than all of their other beers.

A: Deep amber color and a light cream colored head.
S: Very clean aroma. Implies a simple (but pleasing) hop mix.
T: I am being picky to give this a 4. This taste like it smells. A straight forward hoppy high lite that is not overly bitter or fruity. There are many IPAs out there and I consider Dog Fish head 60-120 to be the top shelf. That said as a bench mark, Hollowell IPA is simply pleasing to drink, high quality, middle of the road experience.
M: There is good body and plenty of flavor that clings to the pallet.
O: The emptier the glass got (20 oz.) the more I enjoyed the beer. To my dismay the wife shied away from the IPA and preferred our overall favorite of the night "Tented Kilt Scottish Ale". Once I have some points I will, gladly, add this to the review list!

Old Hallow Ale IPA has a solid look for an IPA. The body is a dark copper colored and the off-white head has fairly good retention and leaves a little bit of lacing behind.
The aroma has equal parts sweet malt and citrus hops.
Old Hallow Ale is a pretty balanced IPA, but the hop profile does manage to make itself known. Sweet, caramel malt is rounded out but a bite of bitterness, grapefruit, and a little bit of a spicy hop character.
The mouthfeel is Medium bodied, pretty good for the style.
Overall, Old Hallow Ale IPA is a balanced, drinkable IPA. This is another good beer from a small brewpub in Maine.
