Our take on an American Pale Ale features four hop varieties (Amarillo, Cascade, Citra, and Simcoe) balanced by a crisp malt bill of pale and caramel malts. The beer is full of citrus aromas, supremely hoppy, dry, and thirst-quenching. Notes of citrus, papaya, and grapefruit flood the senses; leaving a subtle bitter finish.

L: Translucent medium straw yellow with a very thin white head and minimal lacing
S: Faint but welcoming floral smell with citrus and and sweet toffee malt
T: Earthy and spicy hops with a slight lemon citrus. Very lightly toasted sweet honey malt. Nicely balanced and not too strong. A bit resiny and dank towards the end.
F: Creamy mouthfeel but also refreshing. Slight astringency and not too bitter or dry
O: Great easy drinking beer with an enjoyable somewhat complex character

It looks great; slightly hazy, small head that dissipates quickly with a little bit lingering. Nice dark golden colour.
But then I smelled it and all I got was raw butternut squash. Not sure if this is spoiled or it’s meant to smell (and taste) like this but it’s weird.
It has a bitter finish which is good but it’s that aroma and flavour that’s sadly off putting.
I’ve just had an amazing sessionable IPA....could that have spoiled my pallet? Not sure.
I may have to try this again, drink this as the first beer of the evening and see what happens.
