So I got this guy from my lovely GF's father, who thoughtfully brought it back from his last trip to Switzerland. Couldn't locate it on this site, so I decided to add it. It's listed as a 'hellar bock' on the 'other website.' let's hope it's hellar good BAHAAHAHAHAHA! sigh....sorry. Poured into my 6 oz snifter. Celebrating the end of another semester :D
A- Pours a light, clear, and shining golden hay. Frothy and lively with lots of zesty carbonation. The head reminds me of quite a few American style adjunct lagers, easily brought back to life with a couple careful swirls. Little lace and retention, but still looks very attractive.
S- The smell gives me adjunct off the top, with a large noble hop backbone. Corn, a pinch of roasted malt, some whole wheat bread, a sweetness that has a slight resemblance to vanilla, and for some reason(and I am not alone on this) a bit of coriander. Not really spicy, but definitely some there with just a slight taste of banana.
T- Nice fruity flavor. Easy drinking with little to no alcohol presents. Lots of grains and cereal are prevalent. Light and quick with little lingering.
M- Creamy texture with appropriate carbonation.
O- I'd be more than happy to be fasting and get the opportunity to drink this beer for sustenance. Glad I got to try this. cheers!
