Caramel is dominant, banana, vanilla, apricot, honey, hint of apple strudel on the nose?, chewy, almost full bodied. only 3 weeks left BBD, still very nice.

De Labirratorium. En copa hefe de Bavaria. Viendo El Hombre en el Castillo 2x09-10. A la altura, si no por encima, de los mejores exponentes del genero (schneider, weihenstephaner) Invita a bebersela de un solo trago

Appearance: Cloudy; orangish; huge frothy white head; dissipates, but good lacing
Aroma: Cloves; banana peel; typical Bavarian wheat; sweet like a Bock
Taste: Good flavor right off; typical wheat beer flavor; a little thin for a Weizenbock, though; not too complex, but refreshing
Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

Bottle purchased at Maruhn in Darmstadt, Hessen (Germany)
Pours a hazy caramel with a thick head that lingers until the very last sip.
The nose if full of melted butter, but also caramel notes and a distinct hop aroma.
That hop aroma carries right into the mouth. Though there is a distinctive wheat flavor, there is none of the spiciness I would expect with a hefe style. Rather, the flavors are well balanced with sweet caramel malts and a hoppy bitterness.
At times this beer seems to be a marriage between an American Pale Ale and a German Bock. Though a little syrupy in the mouthfeel, the flavors remain bright and surprising. A well crafted brew that stands out as unique amongst other German beers in this style.
Well done!

50cl bottle poured into Paulaner Seidel
BBE 04 May 2011
A- Medium amber yeasty hazy body with thick creamy 3 finger head. Head retention and lacing is average/good.
S- Spicy clove/ginger note with a touch of biscuit malt. Little banana.
T- Vanilla and cloves up front with a hint of biscuit sweetness lingering. Finish is light/semi dry. Very smooth, no real suggestion of alcohol content. Hefeweizen like, no real distinction to make it a weizenbock.
M- High carbonation, light body.
D- If you had told me this was a regular hefeweizen i would have believed you. Its tasty and has good weissbier characteristics but i dont pick up on any rich bock like qualities in the aroma/palate. Its on the lighter end of the spectrum but when i think of Ayinger weizenbock or Schneider hopfenweisse,it doesnt have the same level of spice, flavour intensity. Nevertheless a tasty brew!

Great three finger white head, with an orangish and caramel colored body--Firm and sticky lacing.
Smells of banana, clove, and hints of metallic aromas.
Tastes like creamy banana pie, hints of vanilla, and even a flaky crust.
This is prickly upfront, creamy in the middle, and finishes mildly warm.
