This Czech-style pilsner is straw in color and light in body finishing with a round mouthfeel. This beer distinguishes itself from the German-style pilsner due to its softer water profile and the use of Czech Saaz hops. Light toasty malt is complemented by a floral and spicy hop character throughout leaving you with a balanced and refreshing beer.

This is an outstanding offering from a Washington, DC area brewer. I enjoyed it straight from the can, and as soon as I cracked the top, I was greeted with pleasant floral notes. The taste matched perfectly. It is slightly sweeter than Pilsner Urquell, which leads the Czech Pilsner market by a mile. It is thoroughly enjoyable if you can find it!

Poured into a Reuben's Brew pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a good retention and light lacing. Aroma of bready pilsner malt, grassy hops with a light floral element. Flavor follows, with bready pilsner malt, grassy noble hops with hay and light floral character; more aggressively bitter than a classic pils. Medium bodied with light creaminess. This was a pleasant surprise. The can had a few months on it, but the hops were surprisingly fresh and herbal. I'm not as excited about noble hops any more, but I liked the hop profile in this one with a little floral life with the grassiness and especially the solidly bitter finish which suits my taste. The bones are clearly Czech pilsner in style, but with a more interesting profile and more satisfying bitterness.

Born Bohemian Pils pours a golden color, clean, with a medium-sized, long-lasting, massively lacing head. The aroma is weak, but nice, clean cereal notes. The flavor is big cereal notes corn flakes, with a bitter finish. Good body and feel. Overall, there are lots of flavors in this pils, more bitter.

From the can, it pours a clear golden color with a very nice white head that slowly reduces. The nose gets a very nice grassy scent over a bit of bread. The taste is delightfully hoppy, not too bad, followed by some malt with a lingering light bitterness in the mouth. Feel is moderate.

Pours a golden body with a thick white head. Pleasant floral aroma with hops & bread. Slightly salty, slightly bitter with some subtle sweetness. Nice balance of toast and floral & spicy hops, perfect amount of carbonation. Crisp & refreshing.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip pint glass. Some nice grassy hop notes along with a dry, crackery malt base, but unfortunateyl it's too bitter which is a shame, because otherwise this would be really good.

Clear bright gold appearance with an average size white head and very good lacing. Bready aroma paired up with floral hops. Tasting a bit of sweetness from the malts but not as strong as caramel. Also taking on more of a toastier quality as it rolls around on the palate. Spicy, herbal hops compliment the flavor while not dominating it. Clean, dry, short lived finish.

Impressive lace left by an above average head, at least for the style. Nose has that pleasant biscuit note, with a touch of spice. The taste is surprisingly intense for a moment because the carbonation is overdone a bit but this really brings the hops, even for the style, of which I consider myself an aficionado. A little on steroids for me for a Czech pilsener, but I appreciate the effort.
