Our DDH IPA is light and hazy in appearance, highly aromatic, and packed full of juicy hop flavor. It strikes a balance between the notes of tropical flesh fruit, citrus rind, and pine sap showcased in American grown hops. A top seller in our taprooms, this Animal is sure to drive you wild.

From the small can, it pours a hazy light amber color with a nice white head that reduces to a thin layer. The nose revels in the tropical fruit and citrus scent, followed by the mouth enjoying a slightly citrus zingy initial taste followed by a pleasant maltiness. Mouthfeel is medium, with a mild aftertaste.

S: nice citrus smell that is not overpowering
T: citrus and flower hops. Nice character and balance throughout the taste
F: carbonation dissipates nicely for smooth mouthfeel
O: solid DDH with complex hop flavors

6 oz draft pour. Overall this is a very mediocre NEIPA. It looks the part, but the flavor and mouthfeel are slightly astringent and very smooth/creamy/juicy. Pass.

Cloudy gold appearance with a small white head and a small amount of lacing. Familiar aroma for a hazy IPA; citrus followed by tropical fruit. Taste doesn't stray far afield. Hops held in place by a strong, malty, oat-like backbone. Soft, modestly sweet finish. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated mouthfeel. Inoffensive but not very exciting.

Look - 12 oz can poured into a half pint glass. light yellow in color, very cloudy, and has a one-finger head that mostly dissipates, leaving behind little to no lacing.

Smell - a ton of tropical mixed fruit and citrus typical of a juicy hazy ipa. a hint of sweetness as well. overall quite pleasant.

Taste - tastes like a juicy ipa, but not just the flavors detected from the smell. it's much more funky here: light tartness to start, with pineapple juice and an amalgamation hoppy and fruity flavors that's hard to parse out from each other. light bitterness to start that grows to be more moderate by the finish.

Feel - medium bodied, low carbonation, and appropriate for the style at 6% ABV.

Overall - a fruity hazy ipa that gets a little funky on the flavor, but generally gets things right and tastes decent.

On tap at Bus Boys and Poets in Baltimore MD. Pours a hazy light gold with a brief off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is pineapple, orange, and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is medium, as is carbonation. Finish is smooth, with almost no residual bitterness. My first brew from Denizens - I'll be seeking some of their other offerings.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Simple straightforward opaque, somewhat solid but not quite turbid orange solid body color. A good solid three finger white tall head makes an appearance with some spotted lacing.

Quite a good hop aroma, but also a bit varied unexpectedly. Seems like I am getting a lot on the nose here, citrus, dank and earthy tones, tropical fruit, spicy herbal bents, really all over the map. After some time, it seems to focus on a nice simple sweet herbality with perhaps some fruity orange kicking in. I wouldn't call this complex, more jumbled, and somewhat all over the place but at least pleasant.

Palate seems to take a different road. First sip an impression is a little less complex, but also a hint of wetness. Light fruity flavors of tropical fruits, not so much distinct with a touch of herbality, in an almost wet like session quality.

An okay IPA pretty much but one of several that's on the hazy bandwagon. Aroma at least is interesting.
